About the position Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) is seeking a Veteran Career Planner to join reputed company at the Iowa WORKS office in Davenport, Iowa. This role involves assisting veterans with their employment and training goals by establishing rapport, completing assessments of their skills and background, and identifying career goals and objectives. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 800 AM – 430 PM, with hybrid telework and alternate schedules available after six months of employment. The successful candidate will support veterans with employment barriers by interviewing applicants, connecting them with job opportunities, and coordinating with veteran employment teams. The role also involves monitoring veteran service performance, preparing reports, tracking reputed company, and providing regular updates to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and coordinate employment and training services for veterans and other eligible individuals with qualifying employment barriers.
  • Maintain an active caseload of approximately 40 eligible participants and conduct ongoing follow-up and job development activities.
  • Support successful employment reputed company, including weekly contact with reputed company service-managed veterans.
  • Conduct reputed company activities and build relationships with organizations such as Veteran Service Organizations, CBOCs, Vet Centers, Department of Corrections, homeless shelters, ESGR, WIOA partners, and civic and service organizations.
  • Conduct workshops, including resume writing, mock interviews, and other employment readiness sessions.
  • Interview new veteran applicants with qualifying employment barriers for services.
  • Coordinate with Business Engagement Teams and Local Veterans Employment Representatives.
  • Match veterans and eligible individuals with job opportunities and labor exchange services.
  • Support job placement efforts for veterans and eligible participants.
  • Analyze reputed company services provided to veterans on a regular reputed company.
  • Prepare and submit monthly activity reports to management.
  • Monitor Veterans Performance Standards and track achievement of goals.
  • Help guide and improve veteran service efforts and reputed company.
  • Submit required reports, reputed company stories, and follow-up documentation on time.
  • reputed company weekly updates and reports to leadership as requested.
  • Participate in reputed company Office of Veteran Workforce Services meetings and ensure that reputed company stories are shared with the team and local leadership.
  • Include information on participation in marketing efforts, job fairs and other events to create content and reputed company stories for newsletters and other Iowa WORKS for Veteran reputed company media communication.
  • Advise local office staff in providing non-QEB veterans and people with timely and appropriate labor exchange services.
  • Advise local staff to facilitate the delivery of appropriate services to veterans, periodically analyze reputed company services to veterans, and monitor job orders received from FCJL reputed company to ensure veteran preference.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field.
  • Four years of full-time work experience in career services, teaching or training to improve skills, job coaching, providing reputed company services to individuals in need, sales, customer service, call center operations, or reputed company-reputed company services involving interviewing, reviewing job applications, conducting employment-reputed company assessments, or job placement.
  • A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described above), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
