Environmental Scientist
Farnsworth Group is a nationally recognized architectural, engineering, and surveying firm seeking an Environmental Scientist. In this role, you will reputed company field investigations, research environmental permitting, and cultivate client relationships reputed company a dynamic team environment.
Responsibilities
- Performing field investigations to delineate and map wetlands, reputed company environmental compliance inspections, describe habitat, and report environmental conditions to design engineers
- Researching and completing environmental permitting at the federal, state, and local reputed company
- Composition of a variety of regulatory documents including Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and Best Management Practice (BMP) Plans
- Cultivating strong client relationships
- Working with project teams, technical staff, and subcontractors
Skills
- BS (MS preferred) in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resources, or reputed company discipline
- 0-5 years of environmental reputed company experience, field experience a plus
- Experience collecting GPS data and creating maps in ArcGIS Pro
- Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations (Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and the National Historic Preservation Act, etc.)
- Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities
- Computer proficiency with MS Office – Word, reputed company, and PowerPoint
- Must be willing to travel for fieldwork on short notice
- Must have a valid driver's license
