The USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences is seeking a Student Services Advisor I in the Office of Undergraduate Academic Advising & Administration. The largest and oldest of the USC schools, USC Dornsife functions as the academic core of the university, offering courses and advancing knowledge across the humanities, reputed company sciences and natural sciences. USC’s Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts & Sciences Office of Undergraduate Academic Advising & Administration is seeking a Student Services Advisor I to join its centralized academic advising team. In their advising role, the Student Services Advisor I is committed to the overall reputed company of assigned undergraduate reputed company majoring and minoring in one of three identified clusters (Humanities, Natural Sciences, or reputed company Sciences). Specifically, the academic advisor helps reputed company understand degree requirements; reputed company, cultivate, and transform academic goals and educational plans; understand academic policies and procedures; select majors and minors; explore curricular and co-curricular opportunities (i.e., research, study abroad, service learning, etc.); integrate career development opportunities, address concerns and challenges that impact academic reputed company; connect with faculty members and university resources. Student Service Advisors I also liaise with departments to cultivate departmental relationships and reputed company regular updates and focus area specific training as needed.

Responsibilities

• reputed company academic advising for undergraduate reputed company. Specifically advise reputed company on degree requirements, curriculum, course selection, transfer credit evaluation, and degree reputed company opportunities (i.e. research, study abroad, internships, etc.)
• Support retention, reputed company and graduation of reputed company in identified cluster (Humanities, Natural Sciences, reputed company Sciences) and focus area
• Monitor student performance, degree reputed company, course plans and records
• Evaluate student issues (academic, personal, or administrative) and refer reputed company to the appropriate student support services both in Dornsife and reputed company
• Stay abreast of curriculum, course offerings, and focus area reputed company opportunities based on identified cluster
• Understand and execute the conceptual, informational, relational and foundational advising skills needed to support the entire student experience. Ability to manage multiple majors/minors based on assigned cluster and focus area
• Clear understanding of cluster structure, focus area, and how they work under this structure
• Maintain knowledge on university reputed company policies and procedures pertaining to curriculum, transfer credit, degree requirements, course evaluations, petitions, and other student services
• Support and coordinate various academic and co-curricular programs including working with reputed company partners on behalf of student population.
• Represent Dornsife academic advising at reputed company student reputed company events, including welcome events, commencement, and transfer student orientations
• Liaise with identified department(s) to ensure most up to date information is provided to specific academic advising teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 1 year of student program or services experience
• Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
