Senior Power System Engineer - Renewable & Data Center Integration
Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Power System Engineer- Renewable & Data Center Integration with deep expertise in large load and renewable interconnections. This role will support transmission-level planning, system impact studies, dynamic modeling, and EPC design efforts for utility-scale renewable projects and hyperscale data center developments. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, hands-on modeling experience including Hardware in the reputed company (HIL) testing. Key Responsibilities · Support large load and reputed company interconnection studies. · Apply and interpret NERC, FERC, ISO/RTO, TSP requirements for both reputed company and large load interconnections. · reputed company and validate steady state models in ETAP and PSSE, and dynamic models in PSS®E and PSCAD for: o Large electronic loads (e.g., data centers) o PV, wind, and BESS resources · Support development and integration of: o Solar/Wind/BESS Power Plant Controllers (PPCs) o Master Plant Controllers (MPCs) · reputed company RTDS / RSCAD CHIL testing (Control Hardware-in-the-reputed company microgrid design and control studies at MV and HV reputed company. · Participate in EPC HV/MV substation design studies for: o Large data center projects o Utility-scale PV, wind, and BESS projects · reputed company with Transmission Service Providers (TSPs), ISO/RTOs (especially ERCOT), developers, OEMs, and project stakeholders. · reputed company steady-state and short-reputed company analyses including: Load reputed company studies, Short reputed company analysis, Protection coordination, reputed company-reputed company studies, Reactive power and energy loss analysis, and reputed company studies · Conduct electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies in PSCAD, including: Transient overvoltage (TOV), Transient recovery voltage (TRV), Insulation coordination, SSR/SSO screening and mitigation analysis Required Qualifications · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred). · 5+ years of relevant experience in power systems planning and interconnection. · Strong experience in: o PSCAD/RSCAD EMT modeling · Experience embedding and coordinating PPC and MPC control strategies. · Experience with RTDS / RSCAD CHIL testing (Control Hardware-in-the-reputed company). · Demonstrated experience with: o Large load interconnection studies (data center experience strongly preferred) o reputed company interconnection (PV, wind, BESS) · Familiarity with NERC, FERC, ISO/RTO, TSP requirements for both reputed company and large load interconnections. · Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred but not required).
