About the position Los Angeles Center of Nose Throat and Allergy (LA CENTA) is seeking a self-motivated, outgoing, and hard-working Medical Assistant to support Physicians and PAs in clinic. This role is crucial for patient intake, explaining procedures, assisting with procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Medical Assistants report to the Medical Assistant Manager and then to the Office Manager. LA CENTA is dedicated to providing high-quality subspecialty care in a community setting and aims to transform reputed company delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients according to office standards.
  • Verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
  • Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary in the EMR system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians.
  • Process appropriate documents in an organized and accurate fashion.
  • Organize exam and treatment rooms, stock and clean rooms and sterilize instruments before and after each patient visit.
  • Ensure patient medications are entered the EMR with each visit.
  • Ensure the following information is entered into the EMR: Medical History reputed company/Questionnaire information, HMO authorizations, medical records from reputed company physicians, hospitals, laboratories, and/or radiology facilities.
  • Assist physician with in-office procedures.
  • Assist in answering phones and scheduling patient appointments.
  • Obtain medical records from reputed company physicians, hospitals, laboratories, and/or radiology facilities reputed company needed.
  • Ensure that reputed company messages are reviewed before the end of the day for proper handling.
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; and keeping patient information confidential.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/ GED Required
  • Graduated from accredited medical assistant program
  • Must be reputed company to travel reputed company our various Los Angeles based clinics
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, physicians, and staff
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a relatively unsupervised environment with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to operate various office equipment necessary to reputed company job functions
  • Team player with a pleasant attitude towards the practice of medicine

  • Bilingual-fluent in both English and Spanish preferred
  • General knowledge of HIPAA and CPT codes
