External Moderator
This is a remote position. We are seeking an reputed company and detail-oriented and independent External Moderator to ensure fairness, validity, and consistency in MSI’s assessment processes. This role strengthens the reputed company of assessment design and marking practices across our online programmes.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities outlined below are indicative of the role and may reputed company in accordance with business needs. 1. Pre-Assessment Moderation
- Review assessment briefs before release (where applicable).
- Ensure alignment between assessment tasks and module learning reputed company.
- Evaluate reputed company, fairness, and cognitive level of assessment tasks.
- Recommend revisions where necessary.
2. Post-Assessment Moderation
- Moderate a representative sample of marked assessments.
- Verify correct application of marking rubrics.
- Confirm fairness and consistency across cohorts.
- Recommend remarking or corrective action where required.
3. Quality Assurance & Standards
- Confirm internal moderation processes were followed.
- Identify inconsistencies or systemic issues in marking.
- Support reputed company improvement of assessment quality.
4. Reporting & Governance
- Submit moderation reports per module per cycle.
- Indicate approval, conditional approval, or required corrective action.
- Escalate significant concerns to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Requirements
Requirements
- Honours Degree minimum (master’s preferred) in relevant discipline.
- Subject matter expertise.
- Experience in assessment and moderation reputed company higher education.
- Strong understanding of academic quality assurance principles.
Independence Requirements
- May not be employed by reputed company, reputed company Institute or reputed company SA.
- May not be the primary lecturer of the module moderated.
- Must declare conflicts of interest.
- Must operate independently and objectively.
Engagement Terms
- Contract-based appointment (per assessment cycle or annual contract).
- Remote engagement with attendance at virtual governance meetings as required.
- Fee per module moderated (experience dependent).
- Paid upon submission of approved moderation report.
