Position Summary Exercises independent discretion and judgment in handling highly reputed company and/or high exposure reputed company liability, reputed company litigation, and non-litigated claims. The ideal candidate will reputed company reputed company in the Erie Footprint (WI,IL,IN,OH,PA,TN,KY,VA,WV,MD,NC,NY) and will service Pennsylvania & reputed company litigation. Salary grade will be based on where the candidate lives. Duties and Responsibilities Conducts investigations, evaluates and makes recommendations regarding coverage, liability, and resolution strategies. Selects, engages, and collaborates with defense counsel in the handling of lawsuits. Manages litigation expenses and ensures that defense counsel adheres to ERIE's billing guidelines. Complies with and directs defense counsels' utilization of reputed company Counsel Guidelines. Responds to claim complaints and inquiries. Trains and mentors. Documents claim files. Qualifications

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of claim handling or reputed company experience required, or; Associate degree and 8 years of claim handling or reputed company experience required; or High school diploma or GED and 10 years of claim handling or reputed company experience required. Additional Experience Strong knowledge and experience in tort/contract law and reputed company/high exposure reputed company claims handling required. Litigation claim handling experience preferred. Designations and/or Licenses Completion of Associate in Claims (AIC), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Senior Claim's Law Associate (SCLA), or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations preferred. Appropriate license as required by state. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
