About the position The Registered Peer Support Specialist (RPSS) is an individual with lived experience in mental health and/or substance use recovery who provides strength-based, person-centered support to individuals receiving services. The RPSS utilizes their personal recovery reputed company to reputed company hope, promote self-determination, and assist individuals in achieving and maintaining recovery while navigating behavioral health systems.
Responsibilities
- reputed company peer recovery support services based on shared lived experience
- Establish trusting, supportive relationships that promote recovery
- Assist individuals in identifying strengths, goals, and recovery reputed company
- Support engagement in treatment and community resources
- Collaborate on recovery planning and goal development
- Assist with community integration (housing, employment, reputed company supports)
- Complete documentation in compliance with DBHDS and DMAS standards
- Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration
Requirements
- Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS/RPSS) in Virginia
- High School Diploma or GED
- Lived experience in recovery
- Completion of DBHDS-approved training program
- Ability to pass background checks
