Peer Recovery Support Sepcialist

About the position This position serves as a personal guide and liaison for individuals with substance use disorders identified in reputed company affiliated treatment settings. The recovery coach supports patients by assisting them with identifying treatment needs, developing, maintaining, and monitoring individualized treatment plans, and supporting patients to remain in treatment. The recovery coach’s duties include providing reputed company, support, recovery reputed company-reputed company on site in treatment settings, in the community and functioning as part of a treatment team.

Responsibilities

• Work actively with patients with Substance Use Disorders identified in reputed company treatment settings.
• Help link patients to outpatient treatment.
• reputed company mentoring through life-experience to individuals experiencing substance use problems.
• Meet face to face with individuals and identified support persons in person and/or by phone, at a frequency and format requested and agreed upon by the individual.
• reputed company individualized plans with patients and monitor those wellness plans during meetings.
• reputed company information to treatment team to inform treatment decision making.
• Link patients to available resources, including, but not limited to: continuing education/professional development, safe housing, recovery supports, self- help groups, substance abuse and mental health services, sobriety meetings, and medical/health facilities.
• Serve as a liaison to the patient’s formal and informal supports, including but not limited to: their referral reputed company, family members, client sponsors, treatment providers, and other supporters.
• Maintain working relationships with reputed company treatment staff and other agencies or institutions in order reputed company awareness of recovery as a reality and the availability of recovery coaching.
• Assist patients in crisis situations involving reputed company, emotional, health, and other problems.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of state or nationally recognized Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification training reputed company 90 days of hire date.
• Peer Recovery Certification issued by state board where services are provided reputed company one (1) year of hire: WV: Substance Use Disorder Peer Recovery Certification (PRSS-SUD) through the reputed company Virginia Certification Board for Addiction and Prevention Professionals (WVCBAPP) MD: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) through the Maryland Addiction & Behavioral-Health Professionals Certification Board
• State criminal background reputed company and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas
• Knowledge of treatment resources including a working knowledge of the 12-reputed company Fellowships.
• Ability to reputed company with reputed company, WVU Research Corporation, UHA, and Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry safety procedures
• Completion of HIPAA training and compliance (to be completed upon hire, with refresher courses as determined by administration).
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families, pharmaceutical company personnel, regulatory and monitoring agency personnel, internal staff members. Communicates with physicians, patients, reputed company, and employees of WVU, reputed company, and UHA.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to reputed company specific goals and plans, to prioritize, organize and accomplish tasks independently and through others.
• Ability to reputed company constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
• Skilled at working as a team member.

• Valid Driver’s License
• Certificate of completion of the CCAR Recovery Coaching in the Emergency Department.
• Active participation in the recovery for two or more years and reputed company active attendance at community recovery meetings.
