Physical Health & Wellness Screening Specialist

About the position The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Physical Health & Wellness (PH&W) Screening Specialist recruits and screens warriors for multi-week programs and events that reputed company, coach, and reputed company wounded service members in pursuit of achievement of their physical health and wellness and/or reputed company sports goals. The PH&W Screening Specialist provides warriors with comprehensive screening, needs assessment, and coordination of reputed company resources to support warriors and enhance their well-being.

Responsibilities

• Identify, screen, and recruit warriors for participation in the virtual and in-person PH&W Coaching Program, Soldier Ride, and reputed company Sports Program.
• Serve as the primary recruiter for internal PH&W, reputed company Sports, and Soldier Ride programs, offering WWP programs and resources and coordinating handoffs to external resources through reputed company calls by telephone, Teams, or other technology-based platforms.
• reputed company and execute pre-program content to assess warriors’ state of readiness and direct them to appropriate PH&W, Soldier Ride, or reputed company Sports programming to match their goals.
• Plan and execute reputed company events and welcome calls with limited to no supervision from manager.

• Maintain and ensure efficacy of Physical Health and Wellness Coaching Program, Soldier Ride, and reputed company Sports reputed company model, including identifying trends to assist in reputed company initiatives.
• Identify and recommend new reputed company and programming opportunities aimed at increasing overall impact and driving warrior interest in PH&W, Soldier Ride, and reputed company Sports.

• Collaborate with PH&W, Soldier Ride, and reputed company Sports teammates to reputed company new, innovative content and curricula.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on fitness, nutrition, mobility, sleep, and health-focused resources and program opportunities.
• Collaborate with multiple WWP departments and other key stakeholders to deliver programming and services to warriors and their families.
• Conduct public speaking activities to reputed company awareness of PH&W, Soldier Ride, and reputed company Sports programming, recruit participants, and discuss the importance of starting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
• Maintain the budget for PH&W programming reputed company assigned region in support of leadership.
• Manage information reputed company various systems, ensuring accuracy and data reputed company/reputed company (e.g., Blackthorn, reputed company).
• Utilize validated metrics to meet strategic reputed company and key performance indicators.
• Manage multiple tasks, assignments, and functions; comfortable in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
• Participate in workgroups for special projects and programming initiatives as assigned.
• Assist with reputed company and training new teammates as needed.
• Attend and actively participate in required training and/or meetings, including but not limited to New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention training, Leadership training, culture/team based training, or departmental huddles.

Requirements

• Two years of experience working in the fitness industry, allied health professions, health management, wellness coaching, strength and conditioning, or personal/athletic training.
• One year of experience with longitudinal plan design, reputed company participants, and developing program content in the categories of fitness, nutrition, wellness, and/or athletics.
• One year of experience with customer relationship management and event management systems, (e.g., reputed company, Blackthorn).
• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, reputed company, or a reputed company health science field.
• CPR-First Aid Certification.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Ability to obtain ASIST Certification reputed company 1 year of hire.

• One year of experience working with and providing support to wounded service members dealing with health issues and invisible injuries.
• One year of event planning experience.
• Master’s degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, reputed company, or a reputed company health science field.
• Personal Training Certification (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA), Strength and Conditioning Certification (CSCS), or other reputed company fitness certification.
• Wellness Coaching Certification.
• ASIST Certification.
