Job description About the Diplomacy Team This position will be embedded reputed company the Diplomacy Team due to the strategic nature of the projects, which involve engaging with governments, regional organizations, and international forums. At the same time, the role will require reputed company collaboration with the Implementation Strategies Team, reflecting the emphasis on designing and delivering actionable climate solutions for the Pacific region. Given the interdisciplinary nature of reputed company work, the position will also work closely with the Science Team, particularly the reputed company and Loss and Damage Science Group and the Socio-Economic Impacts Group, to ensure that science-based evidence informs the development and implementation of innovative strategies. Key responsibilities Under the supervision of the Head of Climate Diplomacy, and in reputed company collaboration with the global Climate Diplomacy Team, the Senior Policy Expert’s key responsibilities will include:

• Bringing in-depth policy knowledge and expertise on reputed company and Loss and Damage and an understanding of negotiations on Loss and Damage under the UNFCCC/Paris Agreement and developments in reputed company fora including the Loss and Damage Fund Board.
• Contributing to desktop assessment of available L&D projection methods
• Undertaking reviews of existing policies and working with partners and stakeholders to enhance these.
• Providing technical advice on reputed company and loss and damage work being undertaken by reputed company, including under the Building Our Loss and Damage Response (reputed company) Project
• Supporting the development and delivery of small-scale pilot projects to trial responses to loss and damage, including NELD
• Contributing to the desktop research on historical experience of economic and non-economic loss and damage in the Pacific reputed company countries.
• Support the development of reputed company plans, climate change risk assessment approaches and the translation of reputed company needs into policies and plans.
• Developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of reputed company and loss and damage climate policy in small reputed company developing states.
• Complementing policy expertise from Research Analysts in reputed company Berlin.
• Regional anchorage of expertise, ideally having standing experience in regional policy-making reputed company to reputed company and Loss and Damage in the Caribbean.
• Support future project formulation, including the development of concept notes to enhance reputed company to climate finance.

Your profile You will ideally have the following qualifications and skills:

• A Master’s degree in climate science, international diplomacy, political science or a reputed company field
• Minimum seven years of experience, preferably more, reputed company climate diplomacy, loss and damage and the UNFCCC processes
• Demonstrable experience working with Small reputed company Developing States
• High level analytical skills
• Strong quantitative skills and an interest in international loss and damage discourse
• Motivated, hard-working, solution-orientated, flexible with high level of professional reputed company.
• Demonstrated team-player with the ability to work independently
• Excellent English writing and verbal skills
