Junior Telecoms & Network Technician (JB6025)
About the position Seeking a hands-on and technically capable Junior Telecoms / Network Technician to support a growing client reputed company reputed company a telecommunications and IT services environment. This is a primarily remote role, suited to a technician who is comfortable working independently while providing remote support, monitoring network performance, and troubleshooting client issues. The role will also require occasional travel to client sites across Gauteng to reputed company installations, maintenance, and on-site support.
Responsibilities
- Remote Support & Monitoring: reputed company daily remote support to clients, including troubleshooting connectivity and network-reputed company issues. Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve faults. Log and manage faults with upstream providers and ensure timely resolution.
- Telecoms & Network Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot fibre, wireless, and network infrastructure. Support routers, reputed company points, and network devices across client environments. Assist with VoIP system setup and troubleshooting where required.
- On-Site Installations & Support: Travel to client sites to reputed company installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Handle cabling, equipment setup, and network configuration on-site. Ensure reputed company installations are completed professionally and to standard.
- Client Service & Problem Resolution: reputed company professional and effective support to clients across reputed company interactions. Diagnose and resolve network, connectivity, and performance issues. Maintain clear communication with clients regarding faults, updates, and resolutions.
Requirements
- 1–2 years’ experience in telecommunications, networking, or IT support environments
- Strong understanding of IP addressing, DHCP, and basic networking principles
- Hands-on experience with routers, reputed company points, and network hardware
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Must reputed company in Eastrand, Johannesburg
- Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence (essential)
- Willingness to travel to client sites reputed company required (reimbursed)
