We seek an individual with expertise in Performance, Theatre Studies, and Direction. The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a [3-3] teaching load. Teaching may be required for courses in Playwrighting, Acting, and Dramaturgy, as well as topics such as Feminist Theory or Shakespeare, depending on the candidate’s specialty. Job Description: Required Qualifications: A Master’s degree. Demonstrated experience as a performing artist with an active performance portfolio. Ability to teach compelling courses in any of the following areas: Playwrighting, Acting, and/or Dramaturgy, Feminist Theory and/or Shakespeare. Ability to teach other performance courses, and to contribute to acting curriculum using contemporary/recent training that relates to performance pedagogy Ability to contribute to departmental productions as displayed through sample syllabi, teaching evaluations, directing credits, production roles, diversity of course offerings, etc. Preferred Qualifications: An MFA or Ph.D. or ABD is preferred at the time appointment begins (August 10, 2026). Previous teaching experience. Demonstrated experience as a theatre director with active and ongoing industry work.
