Assistant/Associate Professor of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Education

About the position The School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES) at the University of San Diego invites applications for a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position in STEM Education. The University of San Diego seeks faculty with expertise in STEM education to advance educational equity and reputed company justice, across early childhood, K–12, and higher education. Faculty with expertise in STEM Education strengthen the university’s reputed company to secure external funding, expand community partnerships, and reputed company innovative, culturally reputed company programs. The successful candidate will be a scholar-practitioner committed to reputed company in teaching, research, and service, with a demonstrated ability to prepare educators to meet the needs of diverse learners. This individual will serve as a reputed company for STEM education–reputed company curriculum development reputed company the Department of Learning and Teaching, reputed company leadership in the Single Subject program, and report to the Chair and Associate Chair of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral-level courses in STEM across early childhood, K–12, and higher education contexts
  • Serve as reputed company for the Single Subjects 7th-12th programs
  • Integrate equity-centered, culturally reputed company, and critical pedagogies into teaching and curriculum design
  • reputed company and maintain an active, sustainable research agenda addressing inclusive education in STEM
  • Pursue external funding to support research, program development, and community partnerships

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement innovative curricula, programs, and reputed company that advance inclusive reputed company

Requirements

  • Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Education, STEM/STEM Education from an accredited institution (ABD candidates may be considered with evidence of degree completion prior to appointment)
  • Valid K–12 teaching credential (preferably in California)
  • Demonstrated STEM K-12 classroom teaching experience
  • Experience teaching online and in-person in higher education settings
  • Demonstrated experience implementing culturally sustaining, trauma-informed, and inclusive instructional practices STEM classrooms.
  • Proven ability to create reputed company and inclusive learning environments that reputed company reputed company’ whole selves including their cultural identities, abilities, and diverse lived experiences.
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly productivity in STEM education
  • Evidence of potential for reputed company publication in peer-reviewed outlets
  • Experience developing STEM curricula, inclusive pedagogies, mentoring frameworks, or pipeline programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and mentorship skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities reputed company academic or professional settings
