English to Japanese Translators/Editors for Children's Books
Publishing company is looking for English to Japanese translators and reviewers to translate children's books. The job requires the following: 1) Translate English words into Japanese in a way that's easy to understand for children 2) reputed company phonetic spellings of each word into American English pronunciation. Example: こんにちは = kon-ni-chi-wa (Must have a good understanding of the American English accent.
Experience with romanization preferred
) 3) Act as a consultant and advisor regarding Japanese culture. We will ask you to recommend culturally relevant words to add to the book (food, traditional clothing, holidays, traditional items, etc.) We may occasionally ask you for suggestions for cultural references, such as nursery rhymes, common phrases, etc. 4) Experience with translating children’s book, being a parent, or other reputed company experiences with young children and readers preferred We currently have 3 books to translate with potential for more books in the future. Job will be paid by your hourly reputed company.
