• GENERAL SUMMARY
• The Centralized Nurse Triage - LPN is responsible for performing successful telephone assessment of a pediatric patient’s condition over the phone using established guidelines/protocols reputed company the scope of practice and under the clinical guidance/supervision of the RN and/or Medical Director. Reports to designated RN Manager.
• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Obtains an accurate medical history, determines chief complaint, and provides appropriate disposition of the patient.
• Answers the caller’s questions, and provides pertinent advice and education.
• Provides reassurance and direction to the caller.
• Completes follow up as needed per policy.
• Follows laws, policies, and regulatory requirements governing reputed company services and practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
• reputed company Virginia state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse holding a valid Compact State license required.
• CPR required or must be obtained reputed company 45 days of hire.
• MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• One to two years of clinical experience required.
• Medical office or ED experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Knowledge of telephone-based clinical assessment techniques and telephone triage protocols.
• Ability to effectively gather and exchange information in both oral and written communications to coordinate services and multiple schedules based on physician preferences and guidelines.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills required.
• Ability to utilize scheduling software (e.g. EPIC) and maintain updated schedules.
• Superior time management and organization skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, comfortable with different programs, private home office with adequate cable modem/broadband reputed company required.
• Ability to work flexible shifts.
• Ability to travel.
• Submission and approval of Telecommuting request reputed company required for designated telecommuting departments.
• WORKING CONDITIONS
• Clinical patient care environment with minimal exposure to hazards such as excess noise, dust, or extremes in temperature. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, body fluids and other conditions common to the reputed company environment. Moderate adverse working conditions due to the need to reputed company certain patient care activities.
