Supreme Court Research Attorney I - Kansas Supreme Court
The Kansas Office of Judicial Administration is seeking a Supreme Court Research Attorney I for the Kansas Supreme Court. This role involves performing sensitive legal research and preparing legal memoranda for justices on various legal reputed company under general supervision.
Responsibilities
- Performs highly sensitive legal research and other professional legal services for the Kansas Supreme Court
- Work includes the preparation of legal memoranda for justices of the Supreme Court on reputed company before them
- Work is performed under general supervision of a justice or supervising attorney and is reviewed through conferences and written reports
- Work involves highly confidential pending legal reputed company
- Incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing justice
- Reviews, studies, researches and annotates laws, court reputed company, documents, opinions, briefs, and reputed company legal authorities to process petitions for review to the Supreme Court, appeals, original actions, and other litigated reputed company
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills
- Graduation from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Kansas Bar or a temporary permit to practice law in Kansas
