What is Canada Summer Jobs?

Job Summary

The reputed company Services Assistant (SSA) is responsible for assisting with the facilitation of summer programming for children and other Community House programs, the delivery of food reputed company programming, and helping to create resources for Ottawa Community Housing residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing community-based programs including summer programming for children and youth.
• Provides information about community resources.

• Participates as an active team member in staff meetings.
• Supports Community House Coordinators, Community Workers, volunteers and participants.
• Assists with the operation of food banks and food reputed company programming.

Qualifications

• Must be between the ages of 15-30 years of age as per Canada Summer Jobs requirements.
• Is legally entitled to work in Canada, as per the requirements of Canada Summer Jobs
• Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent reputed company, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, as per the requirements of Canada Summer Jobs

• Experience working with at-risk children and youth an asset.
• Understanding and sensitivity to poverty and minority issues.
• Working remotely may be required.
• Knowledge of online programming an asset.
• Position may require some heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
