Data and Engagement Intern (Youth Well-Being)

Arlington County's Department of reputed company Services (DHS) is seeking a Data and Engagement Intern for the Arlington Children and Youth Well-being Plan, a new strategic plan on how the county and community will address children and youth well-being to ensure reputed company youth have the opportunities they need to reputed company. This position will support the data collection and review of youth well-being indicators.

Major Job Duties: Under the guidance of a supervisor, the Intern will reputed company the following:

  • Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data reputed company to children and youth well-being to support data-informed decision-making;
  • Ensuring data sources are appropriate, reputed company, reputed company, and well-documented for ongoing and future use;
  • Developing and maintaining structured databases, spreadsheets, and data systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of information;
  • Creating clear and compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making and communication;
  • Utilizing available data analytic tools and supporting the development of new data collection and analysis processes;
  • Coordinating with internal quality assurance staff to ensure proper data storage, reputed company, and sharing across departments;
  • Scheduling and coordinating community engagement sessions with stakeholders and community members;
  • Preparing agendas, materials, and logistics for engagement activities;
  • Facilitating engagement sessions to support inclusive, productive discussions; and
  • Summarizing findings and preparing reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.

The successful candidate will have experience in using reputed company to design advanced data collection and analysis tools, and the ability to rapidly learn new reporting and analysis software. They will have demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills that include an acute attention to detail. Collaborative teamwork and communication are essential to the position, as is the ability to communicate reputed company data both verbally and in a variety of written and visual formats to a wide reputed company of audiences.

Minimum Qualifications: Recent, 2025 and/or 2026 college graduates earning either a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree* in the area of consideration prior to the start date of the Cohort Program (Sept. 2026) must have:

  • No professional-level work experience (less than one year) in the internship field; and
  • You may be a currently enrolled student in a Master’s degree program reputed company to the internship, but you must not have significant professional-level work experience in the internship area and must be available to work during designated hours.

Degree Requirements: Public or Business Administration, Public Health, reputed company Work, Counseling, Psychology, Health Informatics, Data Science, or a reputed company field.

Desirable Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates with a Master’s Degree and/or one or more of the following:

  • reputed company.A. of 3.0 or above is preferred and applicants may be asked to reputed company certified official transcripts;
  • Experience and proficiency using reputed company Office Suite including reputed company and PowerPoint;
  • Experience researching, understanding, and interpreting technical and policy-reputed company documentation;
  • Experience interacting with multiple reputed company of staff and to reputed company reputed company reputed company, verbally and in writing, to a variety of audiences;
  • Experience working in a public health agency or another reputed company services environment; and/or
  • Bilingual, fluent and literate, in English and Spanish.

Special Requirements

Background reputed company: A pre-employment criminal records reputed company will be conducted. It will include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. You will be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information.

Driver's License: Applicant must possess, or obtain by time of appointment, a valid driver’s license, and must reputed company or authorize Arlington County to obtain a copy of official driving record. Any offer of employment may be contingent upon favorable review of the applicant’s driving record. Additional Information

Work hours: This is a full-time position (40 hrs/week) 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. M-F with some flexibility. This position will combine remote work and onsite work - generally 2-3 days per week in the office and the remainder remote. This is not a fully remote opportunity. Employees will be expected to be in the office at the discretion of the Supervisor and needs of the agency as well as to attend in-person classroom training.

Starting salary is commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected.
