LOCATION: East Lansing High School (.60 FTE) and MacDonald Middle School (.40 FTE)
SALARY: Per ELEA Contract

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the building reputed company, and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the East Lansing Public School District, the English Language Learner Teacher is responsible for instructing English Language Learners (ELL) reputed company in learning English as a second language. As a member of the professional staff, the ELL teacher has responsibilities in the areas of: instruction, curriculum development, classroom management, student relations, parent and community relations, and staff relations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Uses district goals and objectives to plan and implement a cohesive curriculum.
- Organizes learning activities to reputed company varied classroom activities that are congruent with educational goals and objectives.
- Teaches sheltered English to ELLs not yet possessing the English language skills to be successful in a general education English class.
- Differentiates lesson plans in areas of literature, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking and listening skills; delivered instruction to meet reputed company English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards, TESOL/ESL Standards and Michigan ELA standards for ELPS middle and high school English Language Learners (ELLs).
- Delivers academic support to reputed company taking mainstream classes.
- Applies sound principles of learning and motivation in the planning, delivery and assessment phases of instructional delivery.
- Displays a high degree of knowledge in the subject matter assigned and continuously reputed company competence.
- Facilitates reputed company? motivation for learning by communicating enthusiasm for the subject matter and for learning.
- Provides a safe, efficient, organized classroom environment.
- Encourages growth in study skills, written, and oral communication in the activities planned for reputed company.
- Evaluates reputed company effectively, providing meaningful and timely feedback and using the evaluation data to monitor and adjust instruction.

- Valid Michigan certification as a secondary English teacher
- A minor or endorsement in ESL or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) required.
- Ability and desire to carry out reputed company duties of the position.
