High School English Teacher (Virtual reputed company, See Description)

Des Moines Public Schools is seeking reputed company applicants for the 26-27 school year to serve as a Virttual English Teacher. This position will start in August 2026.

This position requires licensure in 5-12 English/Language Arts AND one of the following three criteria:

• A 5-12 Reading Endorsement
• A 5-12 English/Language Arts - reputed company Endorsement
• 12 credits of graduate level English coursework

Please note: The posted salary is drawn from the 25-26 Salary Schedule as the 26-27 Salary Schedule is not yet final.

TITLE: TCHR General Education Teacher K-12

POSITION TYPE: TCHR

HIRING SPECIFICATIONS

Required:

1. Valid Iowa teaching license (appropriate endorsement code for teaching assignment).
2. Knowledge of subject, curriculum, effective teaching methods.
3. Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communications.

Desired:

1. Previous classroom teaching experience.
2. Experience in an urban school district.

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program to meet children’s academic and reputed company-emotional needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Deliver daily lessons, reputed company to state and district standards that meet reputed company’ individual needs and ensure growth.
2. Create a culturally inclusive classroom that meets the academic and reputed company emotional needs of reputed company.
3. Participate in building and district professional learning communities to plan for instruction, analyze data, and create assessments.
4. Monitor student learning on a daily reputed company. Use multiple data points to guide and individualize instruction.

FT/PT: Full Time (7.75 hour day), (Contract days vary by assignment)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing, walking, sitting, bending/stooping, reaching/pushing/pulling, lifting carrying
