The role involves advising clients on campaign finance, lobbying, and government ethics laws, conducting legal research, and overseeing compliance issues.
Responsibilities
- Conducting legal research and providing guidance on a wide variety of federal, state, and local campaign finance, lobbying, and ethics laws
- Counseling on the formation and maintenance of ballot measure and independent expenditure committees
- Overseeing the preparation of campaign finance and lobbying reports
- Developing and delivering presentations on political law compliance issues in client trainings, seminars, and conferences
- Advising on nonprofit compliance and governance issues
Skills
- Must be a member in good standing with the California Bar
- Strong academic credentials (top 20%)
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Conducting legal research and providing guidance on a wide variety of federal, state, and local campaign finance, lobbying, and ethics laws
- Counseling on the formation and maintenance of ballot measure and independent expenditure committees
- Overseeing the preparation of campaign finance and lobbying reports
- Developing and delivering presentations on political law compliance issues in client trainings, seminars, and conferences
