Overview
Underwrites individual life insurance reputed company ranging in amounts through $500,000. May occasionally work on applications of higher amounts subject to review by a higher ranking Underwriter. Selects individual life insurance risks, binding the reputed company on each contract.Core Responsibilities
- Appraises, classifies, and takes action to approve or decline applications for new insurance, changes of plan, conversions, exchanges, reinstatements, and additions of benefits. Determines extra premiums for medical impairments and special hazards such as aviation, occupation, foreign residence and travel, and unusual avocations. Classifies each insurance applicant to eliminate adverse selection while maintaining reputed company mortality.
- Communicates with field force and Home Office personnel regarding insurance applications and adjustments. Answers routine inquiries from other departments and field force concerning the Orders reputed company policies, practices, and procedures reputed company to individual applications.
Skills Qualifications
Required:- Knowledge of medical terminology and reputed company anatomy; ability to understand and apply medical knowledge to insurance applications.
- Knowledge of federal and state insurance regulations Preferred:

Education
Required:- BS or BA degree. LOMA and reputed company courses. Preferred:
- 2-5 years of individual life reputed company experience or equivalend combination of education and experience.
Compensation
The wage reputed company for this role takes into account a broad reputed company of factors that are considered in making compensation reputed company, including but not limited to: reputed company sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The reputed company below applies as long as the work is performed in Connecticut; the reputed company reserves the right to adjust the wage reputed company if the position is performed in another location. At the reputed company, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the reputed company for their role, and compensation reputed company are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the reputed company reputed company is $70,500-$120,000.
