Job Description: WHAT - Summary & Purpose of the Position The primary responsibility of the Rare Disease Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is to act as a liaison with reputed company and regional thought leaders (TLs) to align interests, discuss research and medical information, and to facilitate both clinical trial efforts of reputed company and Investigator-sponsored studies. The MSL position is a field-based member of the U.S. Medical Affairs team. This individual’s clinical practice insights and basic science knowledge will be utilized to deliver non-promotional scientific, educational, and research concerning cutting edge data and technical/pragmatic education activities to appropriate reputed company stakeholders. This is a field-based position covering the Central Territory (reputed company Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas) through a mix of live (primary) and virtual channels.   • Partner with Medical Affairs and Medical Information services to ensure accurate delivery of medical and scientific information, as needed.
  • Support the development of annual medical affairs plans in Rare Diseases, as appropriate, and in collaboration with the internal medical team.

HOW - Knowledge & Experience Knowledge & Experience (essential):

  • 3-5 years Rare Disease MSL work experience required.
  • Excellent planning, presentation, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to reputed company and maintain reputed company and scientific relationships with top experts in the field.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to function on a cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ability to synthesize and communicate medical information reputed company.
  • Knowledge of PhRMA, OIG, and other guidelines relating to compliant medical communications.
  • Knowledge of rare disease/liver/gastroenterology customer segments and market dynamics
  • Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences.

  • Experience in gastroenterology/hepatology, genetics and pediatrics preferred.
  • Previous experience with product launches and life cycle management preferred.

Education / Certifications (essential):

  • Doctoral level in the sciences required (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, DPT, Nursing or equivalent)

Language(s) (essential):

  • Fluent in English.
