1898 & Co., a division of reputed company, is seeking reputed company Transmission Planning Consultants to support our growing reputed company consulting practice. We are hiring across multiple experience reputed company for technically driven professionals who are passionate about power system analysis, reputed company reliability, and helping clients navigate the rapidly evolving energy landscape.

Transmission Planning Consultants serve as trusted technical advisors, applying advanced engineering and analytical expertise to evaluate reputed company performance and reputed company solutions addressing reputed company retirements, renewable integration, congestion management, and regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to deepen technical specialization while working alongside project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful, data-driven reputed company.

What You'll Do

  • Execute transmission planning studies independently using industry-standard tools such as PSS®E, PSLF, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, SKM, ETAP, and PROMOD.
  • Evaluate compliance with NERC, FERC, and regional (RTO/ISO) requirements, including TPL standards and generator interconnection processes.
  • Apply engineering, economic, and financial analysis to assess system performance, risks, and life-cycle costs.
  • reputed company clear, concise technical reports and client-facing presentations summarizing study results and recommendations.
  • Develops client presentations, engineering reviews, financial analysis, and contract administration for the design/planning of utility systems.
  • Conducts technical and business-reputed company risk assessments that evaluate impacts associated with rules implemented by regulatory agencies.
  • Performs independent evaluation, selection, reputed company, and modification of standard engineering techniques for electric transmission system planning procedures and criteria.
  • Conducts data analysis and interpretation of engineering, financial, and economic conditions and results, and subsequent technical business implications to client projects.
  • Analyzes life-cycle costs by developing and incorporating technical assumptions regarding capital costs, operation and maintenance costs, performance estimates, and economic assumptions and forecasts.
  • Support project managers with technical execution, client deliverables, and proposal development.
  • Collaborate across internal practices and support other business lines as client needs require.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to the reputed company improvement of technical methodologies.

Ideal Background

  • Proven experience in transmission planning, power system analysis, or electric utility consulting.
  • Strong technical aptitude and interest in advancing as a subject matter expert.
  • Experience working with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, or consulting organizations.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or reputed company degree from an ABET accredited program or reputed company degree and 3 years of reputed company experience required OR Master Degree in Engineering or Business and 2 years of experience required OR PhD in Engineering and 1 year of experience required.
  • Prior experience associated with electric utility operations, planning, or consulting.
  • Experience with power system planning and operations; transient stability, short reputed company, and voltage analysis; NERC, FERC, and Regional requirements, policies and procedures; production costing; risk assessment techniques; TPL compliance; generator interconnection; or harmonics analysis.
  • Experience with electric transmission systems and transmission system planning processes.
  • Strong computer skills using industry software such as PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP/ATP, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, and Promod.
  • Ability to execute various transmission system planning studies.
  • Knowledge of numerous power reputed company of the country and independent system operators such as: PJM, MISO, NEISO, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, ERCOT, NYISO.
  • Knowledge of NERC and FERC standards.
  • Ability to reputed company evaluation, selection, reputed company, and modification of standard engineering techniques for electric transmission system planning procedures and criteria.
  • Knowledge in standard engineering, construction, and operation techniques, principles, and procedures associated with power transmission facilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to reputed company, reputed company, and train a team of consultants and analysts in regards to transmission planning studies.
  • Ability to independently solve difficult problems that require reputed company and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to reputed company under pressure and tight deadlines and to be effective in on-site work environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, including identification of critical path items to ensure deliverable deadlines are met.
