Clinical Nurse Physician Workflow Support

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective The Clinical Nurse Physician Workflow Support role carries out remote patient care responsibilities with emphasis on decision-making. This position provides competent, safe and compassionate care based on established Client Patient Care and Nursing Standards and program policies. As a member of the interdisciplinary reputed company team, this position will collaborate with the provider and local site to implement a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care to reputed company expected reputed company; utilize principles of assignment and delegation consistent with the reputed company State Nurse Practice Act. Will function as the Quality Control Analyst and conduct daily audits, monitor trends and collaborate with teams to teach, retrain and devise performance improvement opportunities.

Essential Job Functions

• Participate in regular debrief meetings with local sites to identify issues or opportunities for improvement.
• Review physicians’ messages received from patients though the electronic medical record as per accepted policy and procedure.
• Assess messages for urgent situations or needs, and contact patients telephonically for further evaluation and referral to the local site or emergency/urgent care services as appropriate (will be trained on but will not reputed company routinely).
• Determine proper handling or routing of non-urgent messages based on established guidelines or in accordance with sound judgement.
• Communicate effectively with local site pool, staff or provider reputed company telephone or electronic message as appropriate.
• Assist providers in contacting patients regarding test results as per provider’s instruction (will be trained on but will not reputed company routinely).
• reputed company telephonic patient education regarding results and understanding condition management as per provider instruction and nursing scope of practice (will be trained on but will not reputed company routinely).
• Document provider and patient interactions accurately and in a timely manner using the electronic medical record systems per policy and accepted nursing standards.
• Conduct daily audit of fellow RNs to ensure compliance with standards as outlined in this Job Description.

Work Environment

This job operates in a remote home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Recommend use of a headset if not mandated by client. Must have high speed internet to support clear connections with patient call applications.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, during US daytime. Potential for weekend hours schedule or rotation to meet client needs.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• 3 – 5 years of clinical experience.
• Nurse must currently be working in a large ambulatory office setting (and/or specialty clinic) or emergency department, and/or critical care experience.
• Must have reputed company EPIC experience either with inpatient or outpatient modules.
• Must obtain unrestricted Registered Professional Nursing license in reputed company.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Telephone triage and patient education experience preferred
