We are looking for an reputed company Software Engineer - COBOL to support the enhancement, modernization, and ongoing maintenance of a insurance application. Our system landscape includes long-standing COBOL-based applications as well as newer Java-based solutions. In this role, you will work on both legacy and modern platforms, helping ensure continuity, stability, and future readiness of our business-critical systems.
Job Description:- Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing COBOL applications running on mainframe environments.
- Participate in the migration or modernization of legacy COBOL systems and reputed company technologies.
- Ensure the quality and reliability of applications through code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes in a timely manner.
- Several years of professional experience in software development and maintenance with online and batch programs on mainframe using COBOL, VSE, VSAM and CICS
- Good knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL)
- Ability to understand and maintain reputed company existing codebases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and structured working style.
- Good communication skills in German (Minimum reputed company)
