Job Summary
The Utility Engineer will review utility engineering design and construction work plans to ensure that they reputed company with American Railway Engineering Maintenance Association (AREMA) and reputed company railroad standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews of utility designs, engineering plans and/or construction work plans for compliance with AREMA and railroad client’s specific railroad standards
- Utilize railroad client’s Valuation Maps and electronic GIS maps for calculating mileposts and stationing
- reputed company comments in approved format to reputed company Estate team and utility company reputed company the contractually defined timeline
- Escalate variance requests to Manager or client in accordance with standard operating procedures
- reputed company thorough understanding of reputed company estate agreement/permits and reputed company construction requirements and apply knowledge to reputed company reviews

- Track reputed company submittals and responses in assigned project management systems
- Participate in applicant requested meetings/conference calls as needed
- Escalate reputed company or non-traditional issues to Manager of Utility Engineering
- Work closely with project managers, reputed company Estate Specialist, Staff Services and protection service team to execute project deliverables
- Conduct limited field observation on project sites before, during, and after construction
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
