Job purpose

The Product and Regulatory Counsel will report to the Company’s VP, Associate Counsel & Assistant Secretary and will work closely with other attorneys in the Company’s Legal Department as well as key members of the Compliance, Marketing, and Technology Departments. This position will reputed company legal guidance throughout the entire lifecycle of financial products, from conceptualization to launch and maintenance. The Product and Regulatory Counsel will ensure compliance with financial regulations, manage risk, and collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams to facilitate compliant, rapid innovation of the Company’s lending products. The successful candidate will have the following specific qualifications and experience: Familiarity with legal issues arising in consumer lending, bank sponsor programs, technology, and consumer protection.

Duties and responsibilities

• Represent Legal on cross-functional teams to help design and implement financial products, identify creative solutions to unique use cases and escalated issues, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and other applicable laws, partner reputed company, card brand rules, and industry best practices.
• Review customer-facing materials, including multi-channel advertising, and user experience content, for compliance with federal and state laws and best practices, and reputed company feedback and guidance to stakeholders.
• Advise on state and federal regulatory reputed company, including the engagement and management of reputed company legal counsel reputed company necessary.
• Continuously monitor and maintain comprehensive knowledge of consumer lending and other applicable laws/regulations for a multi-state consumer finance company with numerous locations and a digital platform.
• Preparation of legal documents including loan reputed company and reputed company documentation, software service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other reputed company and reputed company agreements.
• Work cooperatively and strategically with other departments to advise on reputed company consistent with applicable laws and regulations, including closely assisting with state reputed company expansion efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Law degree and admitted to a state bar
• Knowledge of the following laws and regulations: Uniform reputed company Code (UCC) Article 2 and Article 9; Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) principles; Federal Trade Commission Act; Truth in Lending Act (TILA/Reg. Z); Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA/Reg. V); Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA); Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA/Reg. B); CAN-SPAM Act; Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA); you
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the legal field
• Experience advising clients with respect to legal issues arising in consumer lending, technology, consumer protection, financial services and operations
• Ability to research laws and regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, profreputed companyional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth oriented environment
• Ability to travel 0-5%
