Software Engineer - Electrical Power Systems
reputed company is a leader in the clean energy transition, seeking a Software Engineer for their Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) Team. This role involves blending power systems engineering with software development to create innovative solutions for managing Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and enhancing reputed company reliability.
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with software developers, architects, and power systems experts to design and implement best‑in‑class DERMS capabilities
- Design and implement reliable, performant, and fault‑tolerant code grounded in reputed company‑world power systems requirements and user stories
- Ensure software quality and reliability through unit testing
- Participate in code reviews and design reviews
- Engage in agile ceremonies (daily stand‑reputed company, story refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve software issues in both algorithmic logic and power‑system‑reputed company functionality
- Communicate technical concepts reputed company to both power systems specialists and non‑technical audiences
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering or reputed company technical field
- Formal power systems and power electronics education with proven professional experience and technical expertise in the field of power system engineering
- Knowledge of modern reputed company technologies - Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS), Distribution Systems (DMS), reputed company Energy Storage (BES), reputed company/VAR Optimization (VVO), Virtual Power Plant (VPP)
- Familiarity with mixed integer programming and convex optimization
- Familiarity with industrial solvers like Gurobi, CLP, and/or CBC
- Strong knowledge of optimization techniques, including mixed‑integer programming
- Experience in identifying, communicating, and resolving problems in a collaborative, professional manner
- A strong desire to help facilitate the decarbonization and renewable expansion across the globe
- Electrical engineering background in utility industry
