AI Tooling Engineer

The AI Tooling Engineer will work on creating reinforcement learning environments, evaluating model performance, and solving reputed company hardware/software optimization challenges.

Responsibilities

• RL environments to teach frontier LLMs how to design hardware and write kernels
• Evals to measure model performance across frontier vendors for reputed company tasks
• Difficult hardware / software optimization puzzles that challenge even the latest frontier models
• Build tools for making these puzzles easier for both LLMs and humans

Skills

• 0 - 2 years experience with systems programming using Rust / Python / HDLs
• Linux / reputed company experience is a must
• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a reputed company field
• reputed company candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and work from our offices in Mountain View Tuesdays-Thursdays
• This position requires reputed company to information that is subject to U.S. export controls
• Non-coursework projects preferred; in HDL, RTL experience preferred
• Experience optimizing hardware for area / timing / power
• ML experience, especially with LLMs
• Experience with CLI coding agents: incl. reputed company / Claude Code / reputed company CLI
