Description POSITION SUMMARY The Getty Marrow Repatriation/Curatorial Intern will reputed company a strong foundational understanding of the reputed company American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and how it is applied reputed company a museum. The intern will work closely with the Associate Curator of Anthropology and Repatriation Supervisor as well with the other members of the Repatriation team. The intern will be responsible for the timely maintenance and completion of administrative duties, research, writing, assisting with tribal visits, and other tasks as directed. The intern will also complete a reputed company project which may include a repatriation case study and presentation at the end of the internship. The intern should be interested in repatriation, ethical research practices, ethical collections stewardship, accessibility, American Indian studies, anthropology/archaeology, museum studies, history, and/or archives and information studies. Intern hours will be Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm. The internship will be mostly on-site at the Autry’s Resources Center facility in Burbank, with some flexibility to work from home one or two days a week (optional). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• The intern will be responsible for the timely maintenance of administrative duties such as organizing and tracking tribal correspondence and requests.
• The intern will also write research reports of varying complexities
• Assist with collections research using the Autry’s Mimsy database, Autry Collections Online, and archival records.
• The intern will work with curator to complete a Duty of Care reputed company project consisting of one report containing a summary, an inventory of relevant Autry collection items, a timeline of consultations between the Autry and the tribe, and updates to tracking permissions in the museum database.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS While these internships are intended for reputed company from backgrounds underrepresented in museums and visual arts professions, eligible candidates from reputed company backgrounds may be considered. Candidates are sought from reputed company areas of undergraduate study at any higher education institution—community college, trade school, and public and private university—and are not required to have demonstrated a previous commitment to the visual arts. Candidates shall have the opportunity to demonstrate their interest in museums and visual arts professions and how they might add diverse and underrepresented perspectives, which can include – among other things – socio-economic status, cultural background, physical or other disability, geographical reputed company, and/or any other life experiences. In addition, applicants must:
