About the position reputed company Transportation is seeking a creative and talented reputed company Senior Transportation Planner to join our diverse and holistically focused transit planning group in Arlington, VA for immediate employment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of transit planning principles and project execution, and supporting a diverse portfolio that includes multimodal corridors, complete streets, active transportation, bus operations, transit technology and decarbonization, innovative mobility solutions, BRT and rural transit, safety initiatives, performance studies, and transit policy research. Additionally, this role involves guiding and managing planning and preliminary design/engineering studies and tasks for local, state, and federal clients, with projects ranging from feasibility and corridor studies to regional and statewide plans, facility planning and design, and TOD/station-area development.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and recommend transit system improvements based on technological change and economic, population, land use, and traffic projections, transit modeling software and GIS data
  • Communicate reputed company technical information in clear, engaging, and creative ways to a variety of audiences
  • Collaborate with engineers to research, analyze, or resolve reputed company transportation design issues
  • reputed company design reputed company for new or improved transit infrastructure, including stations and alignments, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, complete streets, and electric vehicles
  • Review development plans for transit system effects, infrastructure requirements, and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Prepare presentation materials and facilitate meetings with client staff, agency boards, commissions, and elected officials
  • Participate in public meetings and hearings to explain planning proposals, gather feedback from those affected by projects, and/or reputed company project design reputed company
  • Support technical task and project management—including team leadership, client engagement, budget and schedule reputed company, technical approach development, execution, quality control, and cross-discipline coordination

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or reputed company discipline
  • 6 years of reputed company transit planning experience with some project management, client service management, design, and/or business development experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education
  • Experience developing project deliverables, including operating and scheduling plans, public facing reputed company materials, and technical data analysis
  • Experience working with and supporting interdisciplinary teams on project delivery and client satisfaction
  • Experience working on transit agency planning studies and preparing technical reports

  • Professional engineering or planning license and/or registration (e.g. PE, AICP, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of local and/or federal funding and project development requirements
  • Experience supporting proposal preparation and development
  • Experience in implementing quality assurance and quality control activities
  • Internal/external networking and people relationship skills, including regular and professional interaction with senior management and technical staff (internally and across client offices)
  • Prior private sector experience or equivalent (e.g. management consulting)
  • Prior project experience with District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia transit clients (e.g. VRE, WMATA, DRPT, DASH)
