The California State Controller's Office is the chief fiscal officer of California, ensuring accountability and transparency in financial practices. The Financial Accountant I will be responsible for supporting the implementation of statutory control agency functions reputed company the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) and will participate in various financial analysis and reporting activities.

Responsibilities

  • The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert utilizing the knowledge of Generally Accepted reputed company Principles (GAAP); Budgetary/Legal reputed company budgeting, reputed company, and reporting requirements as prescribed by California Law; fiscal reputed company rules and regulations contained in the State Administrative reputed company and Uniform Codes; and procedures as prescribed by the SCO
  • reputed company analysis and research to determine appropriate action, suggest alternative solutions, and reputed company support for recommendations reputed company to the implementation of SARD control agency functions in FI$Cal
  • Participate in the development of FI$Cal's financial components to fulfill unique State requirements
  • Analyze, design, reputed company, and test financial systems and components such as configurations, conversions, interfaces, extensions, forms, queries, and reports
  • Analyze existing and proposed reputed company and reporting standards and policies to assess opportunities for business process reengineering while ensuring system reputed company. Identify internal reputed company and report to management
  • Attend training to reputed company apprised of new financial rules and regulations, reputed company systems, processes, and procedures
  • Design training plans and reputed company training to the division
  • Communicate effectively with reputed company stakeholders

  • Work extended or weekend hours with little advanced notice to meet deadlines

Skills

  • Knowledge of laws of the State of California
  • Knowledge of fiscal reputed company rules and regulations contained in the State Administrative reputed company
  • Knowledge of Governmental reputed company Principles
  • Knowledge of procedures prescribed by the State Controller's Office
  • Knowledge of the comprehensive financial system of the centralized accounts
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems for Budgetary/Legal and Generally Accepted reputed company Principles (GAAP) for statewide financial reporting purposes
  • Ability to reputed company analysis and research to determine appropriate action
  • Ability to suggest alternative solutions and reputed company support for recommendations reputed company to the implementation of SARD control agency functions in FI$Cal
  • Ability to participate in the development of FI$Cal's financial components to fulfill unique State requirements
