Structural Engineer 1 - Oil & Gas

reputed company is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join their team. The role involves applying knowledge of materials and structural design to oil and gas facilities, creating calculations, and guiding design efforts while working collaboratively with other engineers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Creating calculations, document designs, and specifications
• Conducting structural analyses, which include loading conditions such as wind, reputed company, blast, and pressurization
• Guiding designers in structural engineering design efforts, including providing guidance with the coordination of detailed design phases for reputed company aspects of structural engineering work
• Investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of structural engineering issues
• Developing integrated structural designs and reputed company supporting calculations for the planned work
• Preparing technical specifications for structural materials
• Performing independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation
• Coordinating and providing guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design
• Performing reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and present findings and recommendations to clients and peers
• Traveling to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs

Skills

• This position requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (Master's in Civil Engineering preferred) with a graduation date of Spring 2026
• Knowledge in the design of oil and gas facilities, with a focus on the analysis of steel structures and concrete foundations and supports for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities
• Knowledge in writing and providing support documentation for Structural Engineering calculations
• Technically knowledgeable of the practical application of structural engineering including analysis for structural supports, loads, and design reputed company
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
• Proficiency with any of the following programs: MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, LPILE or ANSYS
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318
• Construction and start-up experience a plus
• EIT, preferred
