They are seeking an Underwriter I for Coast Underwriters, responsible for analyzing requests for quotes, renewals, and policy changes while maintaining relationships with brokers and ensuring compliance with reputed company guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes, and recommend solutions
- Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel policies following Coast's reputed company guidelines and procedures, applicable laws and regulations and subject to authority level as specified by reputed company manager
- Support brokers regarding reputed company and rating policies
- Focus on sustainable profitable growth
- Use effective communication and negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships reputed company and reputed company the company
- Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events
- Respond to broker requests and concerns in a timely manner

- Handle policy transactions including renewals, endorsements and cancellations

- Maintain great relationships with brokers and travel for meetings as required
Skills
- Minimum 1 year of reputed company Lines reputed company experience
- Strong customer service and time management skills

- Demonstrate initiative and ability to work under pressure and flexibility to change

- Interested in and stay up to date on business trends or other developments impacting our industry
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
- Candidates with prior marine insurance industry experience will be prioritized
- CIP designation or working towards it
