Chronicle Books is a renowned publisher and distributor of illustrated books, gifts, and games. They are seeking an Editorial Assistant to support the administrative and editorial needs of the Children’s Editorial department, involving tasks such as copyediting, fact-checking, and managing project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Guiding and anticipating next steps for Editors by project deadlines, creating task lists, drafting frontmatter, copyediting/factchecking, and working on marketing copy, top sheets, tipsheets, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Conducting research, maintaining title information, attending Status, Editorial, and Pub Group meetings and reviewing manuscripts and galleys will also be part of this position
  • The Editorial Assistant will also submit projects for feedback, draft letters and communicate sub rights deals, respond to book projects under consideration, assist with word-processing, and manage advance copy mailings
  • Lastly, they will maintain address databases, review unsolicited manuscripts, and organize and prepare editorial materials for internal presentations
