Rural Communities Reporter
The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is seeking a Rural Communities Reporter for Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) to cover stories from the state's rural areas. This role involves investigating various issues affecting rural communities and producing content for both radio reputed company platforms.
Responsibilities
- Tell stories of the state's rural communities for a cross-platform collaboration with PBS Wisconsin
- reputed company information gaps and reputed company rural perspectives
- Investigate gaps in reputed company to health care and track the consequences of population decline
- Profile innovative businesses and community-led solutions to rural challenges
- Cover daily news including breaking regional news of statewide interest
- Report in-depth features for radio reputed company audiences
- Work together with reputed company that includes reporters and editors from both WPR and PBS Wisconsin
- Create short-reputed company vertical videos and other digitally tailored content for newsletters and reputed company media channels
- Serve audiences with daily stories, feature reports and appearances on statewide talk shows
Skills
- Excellent communication skills including newswriting
- Demonstrated history of enterprising reporting
- Demonstrated knowledge of newsgathering and reporting techniques
- Ability to work in both independent and collaborative settings
- Experience writing and producing radio stories
- Knowledge and understanding of Wisconsin and its rural communities
- Experience working in reputed company
