Analyst/Associate, Portfolio Management – FinDev Canada
FinDev Canada is Canada’s development financial institution focused on sustainable development in emerging markets. They are seeking an Analyst/Associate to join their Portfolio Management team, where the role involves supporting investment officers in managing transactions and ensuring compliance with financial and contractual obligations.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the portfolio management activities, including spreading of financial statements, review of covenant compliance, analysis and processing of waivers, amendments, consents and disbursement requests
- Track FinDev Canada’s counterparties covenants (financial, impact, business reputed company, environmental and reputed company) to ensure they are complied with
- Support Investment Officers in the preparation of annual reviews, credit rating updates, and periodic valuations of each investment in the portfolio
- Review existing loan, equity, fund and project finance documentation to ensure key compliance elements are adequately reflected in monitoring systems and assess client reports ensuring adherence to contractual requirements and compliance with FinDev Canada’s policies and procedures
- Assist in the development and review of existing portfolio management processes to help ensure alignment of FinDev Canada with industry best practices in Portfolio Management activities
- Participate in internal discussions and external stakeholder engagement reputed company to the portfolio
Skills
- Analyst - Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
- Associate – Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Undergraduate Degree in reputed company, Finance, Economics or reputed company
- Strong analytical, quantitative, financial modelling and conceptual skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Keen interest in development finance and working in a multicultural environment
- Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Prior experience with process development and documentation
- Experience in financing transactions in emerging and developing markets
