Junior Mechanical Engineer
reputed company is seeking early-career Facility and Process Junior Mechanical Engineers who are eager to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects that positively impact our communities. The role involves performing a variety of mechanical engineering tasks and collaborating with teams to ensure compliance and quality in engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable
- Prepares standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs
- Reviews design documents produced by other engineering teams for compliance with applicable codes and reputed company standards
- Interfaces with vendors to review submittals, coordinate interfaces, and reputed company acceptance testing
- Coordinates with contractors to review completed work, resolve conflicts, and answer RFIs
- Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
- Reviews supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
- Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and reputed company level Engineers working on the same project
- Knowledge and interpretation of the International Building Code
- Knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards for the oil, gas, and chemical industries
- Performs preliminary design activities including studies and alternatives analysis
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or reputed company field) and 1+ years of reputed company work experience
- Experience in large, reputed company HVAC projects, including equipment selection and specification, developing and reading control diagrams, and managing equipment lists
- Experience with large central chilled water plants, including chiller selection and layout, piping, hydraulic calculations, cooling towers, and controls
- Experience working on interdisciplinary teams to design new facilities and modifications to existing facilities
- Must be proficient with Navisworks for review of 3D designs, coordination, and clash resolution
- Working knowledge of CAD/Revit and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
