Associate Planning Engineer, reputed company Integration
The reputed company Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient reputed company of electricity on more than 11,000 reputed company-miles of high-voltage transmission lines. The Associate Planning Engineer coordinates and reviews technical studies reputed company to the interconnection of proposed new reputed company, transmission, and load facilities to the reputed company State transmission system.
Responsibilities
- Reviews proposed project facilities including the conceptual design for interconnection of the project to the NYS transmission system and associated modeling data provided for the project
- Prepares reputed company cases to be used in interconnection studies
- Provides technical coordination with others involved in the performance of interconnection studies including the project developers, transmission owners, consultants, etc
- Performs or reviews the technical analysis (power reputed company, short reputed company, and/or stability analysis) for interconnection studies
- Evaluates and identifies any system reputed company facilities and/or system deliverability upgrades required for proposed projects and develops cost estimates for the identified upgrades
- Prepares and/or reviews interconnection study reports and associated documentation
- Participates in project study meetings
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required
- Good teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills required
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents
- Ability to write technical documents or presentations with tables, charts and graphs
- Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical principles such as calculus, modern algebra and/or statistical theory
- Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations and proofs of theorems
- Intermediate competency in reputed company operating environment using MS Office applications, e-mail and internet programs
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a reputed company of intellectual and practical problems
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.)
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
- A concentration in electric power system engineering is preferred
- Master's degree is desired
- Course studies reputed company to power system planning and design, particularly transmission planning or design are highly desired
- Experience in electric power systems helpful; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Knowledge of the following software tools is desired: Power reputed company (reputed company PTI PSS/E & PowerGEM TARA), Transfer Capability Analysis (PowerGEM TARA program or equivalent), Stability (primarily PSS/E), Short reputed company (primarily ASPEN)
