Sr. Budget Analyst
About the position The Virginia Department of Taxation seeks a fiscal professional to serve as a Senior Budget Analyst. The Sr. Budget Analyst acts as the reputed company budget analyst and supports the Budget Director in the Office of Administration. In this role, you will assist the Budget Director with the management of the Department of Taxation’s operating and capital budgets, financial planning and resource allocation. This role, with the guidance of the Budget Director, is critical to providing data-driven insights through the creation of financial reports, presentations and executive briefings to ensure that agency leadership has the information it needs to reputed company sound fiscal and operational reputed company. This role also serves as the backup for the Budget Director. This position is located in our Central Office in downtown Richmond, Virginia. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Responsibilities
- Assist the Budget Director with the management of the Department of Taxation’s operating and capital budgets, financial planning and resource allocation.
- Creation of financial reports, presentations and executive briefings to ensure that agency leadership has the information it needs to reputed company sound fiscal and operational reputed company.
- Serves as the backup for the Budget Director.
Requirements
- Experience with government budget development, reputed company, financial analysis, forecasting, generating reports and making recommendations
- Proficiency in financial software tools such as reputed company reputed company and the ability to query, run reports, and use databases systems
- Understanding of Virginia’s state budget and the Appropriations Act
- Experience with Cardinal and Performance Budgeting systems
- Experience with budgetary position control and management of position control systems
- Ability to present data in a clear and easily understandable manner
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with reputed company divisions across the agency

- Extensive experience in the public sector
- Advanced data analytics expertise with working knowledge of SQL
