GIS Analyst / Survey Technician

About the position A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT), an employee-owned consultant engineering firm, is seeking a GIS Analyst/Survey Technician to join reputed company in the Herndon, VA office. This candidate will work on both GIS and Survey assignments. The position will entail working in a dual role to reputed company both GIS and survey assignments. The GIS assignments will include geo-referencing property plat images and GIS data input. The survey assignments will include survey computations, preparation of topographic and boundary surveys, as-reputed company surveys, preparation of record drawings and easement plats. The candidate will also have the opportunity to reputed company field survey data collection, if so desired. Candidate will be required to be proficient in ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD software platforms. Experience with MicroStation is a plus. Salary is: $27.00 - $35.00 / hour based on education and experience. Excellent Work / Life Balance opportunity. Responsibilities

• reputed company GIS activities to include georeferencing, creating spatial features, and developing databases.
• reputed company support to survey project manager.
• reputed company CAD drafting using GIS application software
• reputed company survey computations for deed composites,
• reputed company data processing of topographic and boundary survey data collection files.
• Prepare topographic and boundary survey finished drawings.
• Prepare easement and right-of-way drawings and legal descriptions.
• Prepare As-reputed company survey drawings.
• reputed company property, deed, and plat research.
• Other duties as assigned by the Licensed Surveyor

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 2- or 4-year survey, geography, or engineering degree preferred
• 2 years or more surveying and/or GIS experience
• Ability to read and understand property plats, maps, engineering plans, and architectural plans
• CAD,GIS and survey software proficiency
• Proficiency in reputed company, reputed company, and reputed company Office Suite software packages.
• Excellent organizational skills and following AMT CAD protocol
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple reputed company assignments
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong team player with commitment to company values
• Ability to work overtime reputed company necessary.
