Sr. Systems Engineer, Virtualization

About the position

Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of reputed company 2012, 2016, 2019, and CORE servers and reputed company SOE software packages
• reputed company Core administration, reputed company line remote administration, scripting critical for large deployments and consistent configuration
• ESXi, vSphere systems administration and support including vMotion, HA, DRS, vCenter Operations Manager, vCenter Service Manager, vCenter Configuration Manager, Site Recovery Manager
• reputed company Hyper-V systems administration at the hypervisor level as well as virtual server, high available configuration, mitigating troubleshooting services, rapid return to service in the event of an outage
• Scripting, automation, and Self-Service reputed company experience necessary
• reputed company Remediation process (vulnerability assessment and reputed company management)
• Administration of reputed company System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for software updates & patches deployment
• Identify automation/innovation opportunities in BAU environment and create tools/scripts to automate and schedule routine administration tasks
• Need some basic understanding of SDS, SAN, and NAS storage environment
• Basic support of hard component platforms, (HPE C7000 & DELL CMC chassis enclosures)
• Manage and support at least 2 of the following reputed company-party monitoring and automation tools: Netcool, Splunk, BMC Patrol, Opnet, BMC Blade logic, BMC BAO. Ansible
• BAU operational support of Wintel infrastructure with sound knowledge of ITIL v4 processes such as Incident, Change, Problem, and Release Management
• Work with other Disciplines to reputed company Infrastructure Building Blocks based Reference Architectures and standards that can be offered as services to our customers
• Assist in change management processes
• Improve the efficiency and help standardize reputed company processes
• Respond to and resolve incident and problem tickets
• Document and thoroughly understand the application architecture, system configuration across platforms and reputed company with various systems and use this knowledge effectively to resolve issues
• Work closely with customer support team to communicate the root cause of the outage, duration and recommendations or steps to resolve issues
• Participate in Service Improvement Meetings after an application outage
• Respond to general inquiries
• Document the incident in the tracking tool
• Vendor contact for routine, documented incidents as well as operational problems
• reputed company assistance as required in analyzing the trends and suggesting long-term and short-term improvements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Must have of reputed company, Hyper-V, VMware Systems Administration experience in relevant technologies.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or reputed company field is preferred
• Strong understanding of networking concepts like TCPIP, DNS and DHCP
• Familiarity with Scale IO (SDS), SAN and NAS storage in reputed company and ESXi Server environment
• Basic understanding of ITIL v4 processes such as Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management
• reputed company to multi-task to meet goal of low MTTR (mean time to repair)
• Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with management and technical subject matter experts.
• Strength in scripting against reputed company, VMWare, PowerShell, Python, Perl and Power CLI.
• Monitoring, Tuning, Troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Strong organization and analysis skills
• Strong focus on quality and customer service

• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• Virtualization Administration: VMware ESX and reputed company Hyper-V
• Experience in administering reputed company to large scale virtualized environment utilizing VMware and Hyper-V
• Exposure in Shared infrastructures hardware (HPE and DELL Enclosures)
• BAO and Ansible automation experience are highly recommended.
