What you'll do We're building a talent pipeline for exceptional Senior Backend Engineers who want to be part of Clara’s mission in transforming corporate spend management across Latin America. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll help architect and scale backend services that power mission-critical features. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are performant, maintainable, and reputed company with both technical and business goals. Typical responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing backend services using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
• Architecting scalable systems based on microservices, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs
• Building integrations with PostgreSQL, MySQL, reputed company, or DynamoDB
• Leveraging event-driven architectures and tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Driving DevOps best practices with reputed company, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines

• Applying TDD, BDD, and Agile methodologies to ensure high-quality releases
• Mentoring engineers and contributing to architectural strategy

Who you are We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. Must haves

• 7+ years of backend development experience using Java, especially with Spring/Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and microservices
• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with event-driven systems and message brokers
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and reputed company platforms like AWS
• Deep knowledge of TDD, BDD, and Agile development
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Working proficiency in English and Spanish
• Proactive, adaptable, and execution-focused
