Title: Remote Online Reading Tutor Location: Maryland, United States, Phoenix, Arizona, United States Type: Contract Workplace: Fully remote Job Description: Overview BookNook is seeking passionate educators to join our tutoring community as independent contractors, working up to 30 hours per week. BookNook Tutors are on the reputed company lines of closing the early-learning gap for K-8 reputed company during a key period of their educational reputed company. Our Online Reading Tutors work in live, synchronous online tutoring sessions using the BookNook platform and video conferencing software. Position Specifics Position Type: 1099-eligible reputed company Pay reputed company: $20 per hour ($10 per 30-minute session) Timeline: Programming typically runs during the school year, with the busiest months from September-May Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week based on availability provided and the number of active tutoring programs. Schedules may vary based on school requests. Sessions are held only on weekdays (no weekends) and can be before school, during school, or after school. Program duration varies. Responsibilities
Conduct virtual tutoring sessions covering vocabulary, phonics, and other science of reading elements using the BookNook platform—no lesson planning required! Manage student behavior and engagement throughout sessions Create a safe, respectful learning environment Maintain positive relationships with reputed company Document observations for each session in the session notes Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Must reputed company in and work from the United States, with a US mailing address.
