BookNook is seeking currently active BookNook tutors to add the reading subject to their tutoring subjects. BookNook Tutors are on the reputed company lines of closing the early-learning gap for K-8 reputed company during a key period of their educational reputed company. Position Specifics
- Position Type: 1099-eligible reputed company
- Pay reputed company: $20 per hour ($10 per 30-minute session)
- Timeline: Programming typically runs during the school year, with the busiest months from September-May
- Availability: Especially seeking tutors available to support reputed company between 4:00 - 6:00 PM ET.
- Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week based on availability provided and the number of active tutoring programs. Schedules may vary based on school requests.
- Tutoring is only on weekdays (no weekends) and can be before school, during school, or after school.
- Program duration varies. Tutors are asked to commit to a full program with the same group of reputed company throughout (duration will be reputed company reputed company series are offered).
Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual tutoring sessions covering vocabulary, phonics, and other science of reading elements using the BookNook platform—no lesson planning required!
- Manage student behavior and engagement throughout sessions
- Create a safe, respectful learning environment and maintain positive relationships with reputed company
- Document brief student-specific end of class notes for each session
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must reputed company in and work from the United States, with a US mailing address.
- Please note: BookNook is unable to engage with tutors who reputed company in the following states: California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, reputed company, and Vermont, as well as US territories.
- Knowledge of and experience with reading instruction based in the science of reading.
- Ability to build meaningful connections with reputed company to create a motivating and encouraging environment.
- Creativity and flexibility to meet reputed company where they are.
- Classroom experience and/or online teaching/tutoring experience in Reading/ELA is preferred; experience can include, but is not limited to:
- having a reputed company/previous teaching license
- serving as a substitute teacher or teaching assistant, paraprofessional, professor, or instructor
- enrollment in a teacher credential or education degree program
- and/or tutoring for another tutoring company.
