Job Summary

This casual, seasonal part-time position is responsible for facilitating quality guest experiences, from conducting interpretive programs that enhance historic consciousness to fostering affinity for the cultural and natural resources stewarded by Delaware State Parks. As a Historical Park Interpreter, you will have the opportunity to craft interpretive programs, reputed company in specialized First-Person programs, and reputed company exemplary customer service. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct interpretive walks, programs, and tours.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

• At least six months of experience working with children and young adults, such as environmental educator/classroom assistant, academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, or youth volunteer.
• Experience with care and handling of animals.
• Knowledge of natural, cultural, historical resources, or parks and recreation.
• Knowledge of public speaking or interpretation.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Experience in a similar role or industry.
• Knowledge of Delaware's history and cultural resources.
• Experience with exhibit development and maintenance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
