Responsibilities: GENERAL PURPOSE Admissions Reader positions are Time-As-Reported (TAR) assignments with an end date that allow individual(s) to work approximately five months (November-March) based upon the reputed company of application files received and the needs of the organization. Combined with a spike in applications (over 20K) and realized efficiencies in Operations, we have record reputed company of admissions files to read and review. Readers function primarily as first read reviewers for the Application Review Team and are expected to read on average four files per hour and work ~ 17 hours per week. Readers will be assigned to first reads by the Project Director, Admissions. COVER LETTER REQUIRED ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Application Review: Reviews and evaluates undergraduate applications from assigned geographic reputed company/schools (domestic and international) as a first reader for Arts, Sciences and Engineering to determine admissibility based on various secondary / postsecondary school curricula and credit review, non-academic / extra-curricular engagement, written communication samples and non-cognitive and values-based characters, behavior demonstration. Merit Scholarship Evaluation and Recommendation: Evaluates academic and non-academic components of individual undergraduate applications to recommend the potential inclusion of merit-based scholarships to applicants who demonstrate outstanding potential, regardless of financial circumstances. Other: Attends regularly scheduled part time reader meetings to stay abreast of overall application review process, establish continuity between full time and part time application readers. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and training. Required Work in a reputed company field such as counseling or reputed company considered. Required One year of relevant admissions experience or school counseling.
