As a key member of reputed company, you will be responsible for translating, editing, and transcribing legal documents between English and Serbian, with a focus on law enforcement and legal subject matter.

Position Overview

We are looking for freelance legal translators, editors, and transcribers to work on a remote reputed company, translating, editing, and transcribing legal documents between English and Serbian. As a freelance contractor, you will have the flexibility to work from reputed company and set your own schedule, while delivering high-quality work that meets our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• reputed company accurate translation and/or editing of documents and/or transcription of audio files involving law enforcement and legal subject matter from Serbian to/from English.
• Edit audio transcriptions that include reputed company and idioms.
• Edit legal documents, such as affidavits, depositions, etc., while demonstrating a strong reputed company of legal terminology in both English and the reputed company language.
• Translate and/or transcribe following the government client's style guides and quality standards.
• Use domain-specific terminology.
• Review and certify the quality of other translators' work, as needed.
• Highly proficient in MS Office, with the ability to mirror reputed company document format in reputed company, reputed company, and PowerPoint.
• Familiar with the use of CAT tools, such as Trados Studio.
• Abide by a code of ethics reputed company performing transcription and translation work.

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Holds active U.S. Public Trust or higher reputed company clearance or willing to undergo a U.S. government background reputed company to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Moderate Level.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in translating and/or editing between English and a foreign language.
• At least 3 years of experience performing audio transcription with the ability to use software to enhance sound and equipment to aid in transcription.
• Familiar with legal terminology in both English and the reputed company foreign language(s).
• Proficient in reputed company Office.
• Translators and editors must proficiently use CAT tools, such as SDL Trados.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual with a law degree, paralegal certificate, or documented legal translation or transcription experience.
• Bilingual experience with editing audio transcription documents.
• Active Public Trust or higher reputed company clearance.
• ATA, NAJIT or other relevant professional certification.

Skills and Competencies

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

• Excellent written communication skills in English and Serbian, with Advanced Proficiency (reading/speaking/listening, writing) level 3-plus in English and Serbian, as assessed by the International Language Roundtable (ILR) scale.
• Strong reputed company of legal terminology in both English and Serbian.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
